5 Fun Ways to Boost Your Intuition

Building our intuition with our animals, especially our horses is fun, enlightening and a great way to build and share that heart centred bond. The more you practice, the more you strengthen it.

With practice you will know exactly what your intuition is telling you, and you will be able to trust it implicitly.

Developing your intuition doesn't have to be a chore, and I have put together 5 fun exercises for you to do, to help you boost your.

Just remember that Intuition works in mysterious ways, and sometimes you won’t see that it is guiding you down the highest path until years later. That’s why you need to just learn to trust, and let go. Are you ready?

1. “Notice Everything” Game

People usually walk walk around completely unaware of what’s really going on around them. Things happen, and they don’t even notice. Their intuition gives them subtle signs and messages, and they remain unrecognised.

The more you notice everything – from the colour and fabric of someone’s outfit, to the sound of the leaves blowing in the breeze, the feel of the rain on your skin, the sun on your back, the smell of the wet earth after the rain – the more aware you will become of the truth.

Intuition requires presence. Practice being aware in the present moment, and tune out all thoughts, other than the realisation of how things look, sound, smell, and feel around you, not how you "think" they look, feel, sound and smell around you. You will be surprised at what you have missed.

2. Tune into Someone, and guess how they’re feeling

Now don't forget this is supposed to be fun. Try beginning your day by guessing what kind of mood your boss or co-workers will be in. Or, let your intuition tell you how your partner/spouse or children will be acting at the end of the day.

This can be a felt or seen by pictures in your mind, thoughts in your head, or a feeling in the pit of your stomach. Take notes, too – this gives you an air of credibility to what you are doing and reinforces your commitment to trusting your intuition.

3. Hold an object

This exercise is technically called psychometry which is the art of reading the energy of objects.

Rub your hands together till they are hot, and then hold someone’s keys, brush, ring, or piece of jewellery, and see what you sense about them.

Remember, there's no right or wrong here; you’re just strengthening your intuition muscles and activating it by reading energy.

4. Practice Flow Writing

This is my favourite exercise. Quiet your mind by meditating for 5 or 10 minutes, focusing on your breathing, nice deep breaths in and out allowing yourself to relax and to let go. Then sit down with a pen and piece of paper.

Think about something you’d like guidance on, then soften your hand and just allow it to write, as though it were separate from your mind.

Try not to think too much, or analyse what you are writing, just flow with it and keep going until your intuition tells you to stop.

It can be really revealing when you read back what you have written - I often received a great deal of guidance this way. If hand writing is not your thing - then open a blank page on your laptop, breathe deeply, close your eyes and set the intention that you want your intuition to guide your fingers to reveal a message that it has for you. Rest your fingertips on the home keys on the keyboard (asdf with the left hand and jkl: with the right) and start typing.

The more you do this, the better you will get at it, and soon your intuition will be flowing through your hands!

5. Look for specific messages in books or music

Before you start your day, or when you’re looking for a solution to a problem or issue, open a book – any book you’re guided to – and turn it to a certain page, and then a certain paragraph on that page. Let that paragraph be your guidance.

You can also do this with music; for example, set the intention that the next song you hear on your radio or ipod will contain the guidance you need to hear. And then pay attention! The signs will most certainly come through.

Conclusion

Whilst these exercises are fun, they are also quite powerful in developing and strengthening your intuitive abilities.

Your intuition is a wonderful gift you were born with, and it can both protect you and your loved ones, and guide you to lead the happiest, healthiest, most wonderful life.

Celebrate your intuition, and think of it as something truly divine and special, and it will meet you halfway and provide guidance that is nothing short of miraculous.
